One way to make GIFs

hanthelion:

I will show you how to create GIFs from taking screenshots of a video and combining those screenshots together and saving them as a GIF file.

You will need the following 2:

  1. VLC Media Player (To screen shot the video into frames)
  2. Photoscape (To combine the frames into GIF, plus it’s a reliable editing software)

NO VIRUS, DON’T WORRY. =)

Part 1: Record!

  1. Record a video, do whatever, idk hahaha ya know and save the video.

Part 2: Take screen shots!

  1. Open the video with VLC Media Player.
  2. Click “Tools” > “Preferences”
  3. Click “Video” > Scroll down > Set where you want to save the “snapshots”. (Mine is saved in desktop in a folder called “Shots”)
  4. Okay, now to take the screenshots, just simply press “SHIFT + S” to take a screenshot. You can click it really fast to take many or slowly to take less and the GIF will turn out “choppy”. (You can also slow down the video by pressing that arrow at the bottom left, right above the play button. ^_^)

Part 3: Combine the screenshots!

  1. Open up Photoscape.
  2. Click the “Animated GIF” tab.
  3. Open up the folder containing the screenshots and highlight all the shots you want to add into a GIF.
  4. Drag them into the box on the right.
  5. Change how slow or fast the GIF is over here.
  6. Save and you are done ^_^V

Keep in mind that Tumblr only play GIFs that are size 1MB and under 500 megapixel in wirth or under

And here is the GIF :)
